What Are Pre-Orders?
Some products in our catalogue are available for pre-order before their official release. This allows you to secure the product at the list price and receive it as soon as it becomes available.
Please read the following information carefully before purchasing.
How It Works
- Release Date: Every pre-order product will have an expected release date clearly indicated on the product page.
- Communication: If there are any supplier delays, we will notify you immediately.
What You Need to Know
- Shipping: Shipments generally occur within 24–48 business hours of the release date.
- Mixed Orders: If your order includes both pre-order and in-stock products, we will ship them together once all items are ready. For separate shipments, contact us and we will assess the options. Please note that splitting mixed orders may incur additional shipping costs if the value of the items to be shipped separately does not reach the €69 free shipping threshold.
1. Pre-Order Function
- 1.1 From time to time, our online store may list new products available on the market for customer convenience.
- 1.2 If you wish to pre-order a product pending release, you may do so following our standard order procedure. Products available for pre-order will be clearly indicated on our store.
- 1.3 We may occasionally limit pre-orders to one product type per customer, depending on availability and demand. Any such restrictions will be clearly communicated on the product page.
- 1.4 After successfully placing a pre-order request, you will receive a confirmation email at the contact details you provided, confirming the details of your pre-order.
- 1.5 Your order will be considered officially confirmed only upon receipt of the email confirming that the order has been processed.
2. Payment
- 2.1 Payment for pre-orders is required upfront at the time of purchase.
- 2.2 Accepted payment methods are clearly indicated during the checkout process and on our Payment Methods page.
- 2.3 We offer instalment payment options through Klarna or Scalapay.
- 2.4 For bank transfer payments, please contact customer service for information.
3. Delivery
- 3.1 Once payment is successful, you will receive an email confirming that your order has been processed.
- 3.2 We will endeavour to deliver the product within the timeframe indicated on the product description page. However, the actual shipping date may vary or, in exceptional cases, be cancelled due to external factors.

- 3.4 If we are unable to fulfil your pre-order, we will contact you using the contact method you provided.
4. Cancellation & Refunds
4.1 Free Cancellation Window
Customers have the right to cancel their pre-order free of charge within 30 days of the payment date, provided the product has not yet been shipped.

Refunds are issued within 5 business days of cancellation confirmation, via the same payment method.
4.2 Cancellation After 30 Days
Beyond 30 days from the payment date, cancellation is still possible before shipment, but we reserve the right to retain the non-recoverable transaction fees charged by the payment processor (PayPal, Shopify Payments, etc.) on the original amount. These fees typically range between 1.5% and 3.4% + a fixed amount per transaction, and are not returned to the merchant by the processor even when a refund is issued.
⚠️ Beyond 180 days from payment, a refund via the original payment method may no longer be technically possible (limit imposed by PayPal and Stripe). In such cases, we will agree with the customer on an alternative method (e.g., bank transfer or store credit).
4.3 Returns After Receipt
If the customer has received the pre-ordered product and wishes to return it, returns will be processed in accordance with our Returns & Refunds Policy.
4.4 Supplier Responsibility
Otakura accepts no liability for cancellations or modifications by suppliers. However, in such events, we commit to notifying you promptly and working with you to find an appropriate solution, or we will proceed with a full refund.
4.5 Otakura's Right to Cancel
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel a pre-order at our discretion, including but not limited to cases where:
- 4.5.1 Stock availability is limited or the product is sold out
- 4.5.2 The product is unavailable due to supplier cancellations
- 4.5.3 We have identified a pricing or product description error
- 4.5.4 Information provided by the user is incomplete, technically unsupported, or otherwise inadequate
- 4.5.5 The pre-order is considered suspicious or fraudulent
- 4.5.6 The pre-order violates any of these Terms
4.6 Limited Availability
In the event that a pre-order product is available in quantities lower than anticipated, orders will be fulfilled in priority order based on the date and time of confirmed, paid orders from the pre-order opening date.
5. General Provisions
- 5.1 The official launch date of pre-ordered products may vary. Any changes will be communicated to the customer via the contact details provided at the time of purchase.
- 5.2 We have endeavoured to describe the product accurately, but changes may be made prior to delivery.
- 5.3 Otakura shall not be liable for any delays, postponements, modifications, or discontinuation of the product by the publisher or supplier.
- 5.4 These Pre-Order Terms, together with our Terms of Sale and Privacy Policy, are provided by Mangano Design di Andrea Mangano & C. S.A.S. and constitute your agreement with us. By placing a pre-order, you confirm acceptance of these Terms.
- 5.5 We reserve the right to amend these terms. Please check our online store regularly for updates.
- 5.6 These Pre-Order Terms are governed by Italian law. If a court of competent jurisdiction invalidates any part of these Terms, the remaining provisions shall remain in force.
